Does anyone have the hds 8 and if so how is it

Just got mine two days ago. Tried it out last night. I like the screen size, but I'm just learning how to work it. But, so far I like it a lot.

Im trying to find out which to buy I just don't want to pay 2500+I want the 1198 cause of screen size but the fact I can buy now n get smaller is why im wanting to know bout hds8

i have and hds 10 and 8.. they do the same.. only difference is 2". if ihad to do over again, id probably save my 600 bucks and bought 2 8's

I have a HDS 8 at the console and a 7 at the bow. The 8 has the same pixel count as the 10, hence the same definition. Both the 8 & 10 have six soft keys with an additional six programmable soft keys when you depress the page button. You can do nearly all functions with the 8 & 10 without ever going to the menu.

I use the the HDS 7 at the bow and can display the structurescan, down and side, from there via ethernet.

Do you have to buy the lss1 in order for side imaging to work or does that just make it better

Yes you will
but its absolutely worth it
I just put mine on and I love it

I have had one for over a year now and two 5s for over two years...I love my 8 to the point that if i had the cash i would be swapping out the 5 on the bow for an 8 as well
