So about 6 of us are headed down to fish Guntersville this coming weekend Fri, Sat, and Sun. I've been keeping up with the reports online and it looks like it's trap time, swimbaits, and jerkbait season. I've been on the lake a few times but not enough to say I know what I'm doing. If anyone has any help to give I would appreciate it. We just want to catch a few fish and have a good trip. I've fished as far up as Crow (during the fall throwing a frog) and all the way down to the dam. We'll be staying at Waterfront. I would love to fish Chick one day but I'd be completely lost. But after seeing some of the reports on here man it is tempting! Thanks in advance everyone! emoUSA

I went for maybe four hours this past sat and we had 7-8 fish (4lb best) and it was windy and tough to fish it right. The edge of the grass line in 8-10ft throwing traps, jerk baits, and crank baits. I will also add I threw an a-rig I made and caught 4 of the fish on it. Get on a grass line and keep moving until you get a bite then try to stick around the area and pick it apart. Good luck

Thank you bassbug! What you said just confirmed what we will be trying to do for the most part. I appreciate the help!

We fished Friday, Sat, and about 2 hours on Sunday AM before the rain hit. It was pretty tough for us. We managed 8 fish total. Good quality with the best fish being a smidge over 5lb and the rest between 3-4. Sun AM we decided to go up river north of Mud Creek and had some good luck in a very short amount of time throwing a jerkbait and squarebill around laydowns and rock on the river. Hoping to come back soon when the bite gets better.
