Ability to do things without running out of breath quickly: priceless

Having friends who visited and/or offered their help when I needed it the most: priceless

Having CFF folks offer to take me out fishing when I couldn't go alone: priceless

Knowing my quality of life has improved dramatically: priceless

The hospital's idea of priceless: $297,000 emoEek emoEek

(The doctors bills added right at another $50,000 to the total.)

Being able to make this post: PRICELESS !!!

Most of that $297,000 was more than likely a cleaning bill, to rid the hospital of all the skippie scales, guts and smell after you left... emoPoke

But I am glad you are better, well health wise anyway...

Dad said just wait... the anesthesiologist bill and the radiology bill and the interpreters.... Sad to hear about the bills. I'd go back and ask them if they'll adjust it like they do for the big insurance companies!!!! That just seems absurd. We may have to have a fundraiser for you buddy....

Yep, I've seen bills like that when my daughter spent 2 months in Vanderbilt's childrens hospital. It's crazy how much money is charged, but we are all glad you're hear with us!

Tell em you will put their name in the hat for the drawing and that you have applied for the government stimulas loans.

I have a high-risk pool insurance, so I'm not responsible for anywhere near that amount, so I'll get to keep the house and pretty much all of the junk in it. I do have a few things that I will be selling for considerably less than appraised value in the near future, but it is a small price to pay for what I have recieved!
I just thought you'd all like to see what a heavy-duty stay in the cardiac ICU costs now!

Are you OR Mary sure you were worth that??....Yea, I say you probably are! ;)
Glad to see your feeling better, and your wit is as sharp as ever!

Eric Mine wasn't that high but just missed that by about 80 thousand. But Like you I feel so good now I was thinking about going back for a second helping. Glad to see you are recovering old man. emoLaugh

I had an extended stay in the hospital in 2001. It included 3 weeks in Erlanger's ICU (8 weeks total.) I'm sure my total bill was over a half-million. My share was $1250. Thank God for good insurance!!!

That is a lot of money Eric! I thought that it might be more though. I was in the hospital overnight for a transplant of bone and cartilage in my knee and the bill was close to $70,000. My stay was uncomplicated and I left the next day on crutches. So, I paid all that for them to make me lame in one leg. Great deal huh?

Eric, I have a good supply of hand tools and have working in maintenance for 13 years now. If you need to go back just holler at me. I should be able to make something work for about 1/2 that price

Glad to see that you are doing good. You cant put a price on life emoGeezer
