Just wanted to say hey. I live near Bristol on the Va side and have bass fished all over the country from Okeechobee (flippin with 65 lb braid) the canoeing the boundary waters in Minnesota for smallmouth. But I have sold by Bullett bass rig and now fishing out of a small aluminum rig with a 1978 Johnson 15hp that I rebuilt last last. I now take four rods instead of ten and four plastic boxes instead of a dozen of lures. I have rigged it with some decent electronics...HB 798ci. I have a kid I am putting through college and don't want him to have to work and scrape like I had to in the 70's. So I have started fishing Lake Guntersville and will fish The Chick this year as Buggs Island lake in Va has kinda died. I have learned to slow down and enjoy my fishing and when the bass are moody I keep a crappie rig ready to go.
