We have arrived... in Houma, LA that is. Down here in the Deep South that doesn't feel very deep. It is supposed to be in the low 30's in the the AM. I may not have enough clothes. emoEek Of course that is not that cold, but I expected warmer down here. But it's going to climb into the high 50's... and hopefully the ducks and the redfish will keep us warm. Guide say duck hunting has just been fair.... 17 ducks yesterday, ten today. But he says the bayou is absolutely seething with redfish from 3 to 10 lbs. We'll duck hunt a while in the morning... and then turn our attention to redfish. Headed out with Capt. Anthony Kyzar with Cajun Fishing and Hunting Charters. http://www.cajunfishingandhuntingcharters.com/ Will provide report tomorrow.

Sounds like a blast, have fun and looking forward to seeing some pics of those reds! I fished down in Jean Lafitte a couple winters back while working down there in the aftermath of Katrina. I about froze my rear off being way under dressed for the "deep south" but the trout and redfish kept us happy.

Mmmmm, trout and redfish, the ONLY thing I miss about living in Fl...well almost. Have fun, and cant wait to see some pics, and reports!

A man after my own heart.... Hunting birds in the morning and catchin' fishes in the evening. That rocks!!!!!! Go get 'em Richard. Just learn how to get used to hearing "GO TIGERS" while being down there... drives me nuts!

I would turn green with envy, but I resist that temptation all the time. Catch a lot and take lots of pics Richard. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

Have a great time... my memories of Houma aren't the best! I spent a lot of time there working Emergency Operations after Hurricane Katrina :(
