Hey guys I have been down here since Saturday and have not blanked but close. I know it’s dog days and a large population should be out deep, this is my problem. My di and si on my lowrance is not working right. On 400’hz I can see bottom on do down to about 20ft and so with the gain to 95-better. The transducer is shot 400 miles from home trying to give my dad a good trip. ll. I tried to mark a bunch with no luck. Help a feller find some shallow without using much graph stuff. Leaving Wednesday. Fun fishing only. Any help is greatly appreciated

There a few fish deep, but I would just turn the graph off and fish the grass. I know a lot of good fish came from the grass this weekend. Try flipping scattered grass, or fish the mats with frogs; and moving/ reacation baits over the grass that has not topped out yet. you could also use a light texas rig or a shakey head to fish the deeper grass edges.

Gar everywhere. Bait was not very prevalent as co
Pared to years past. We did go up the little chick river a ways exploring. Caught a few below both but nothing to write home about.

You should be able to find small largemouth and white bass schooling in the evenings on 5-8’ deep flats off the main channel. You should see them breaking the surface pretty quick if they are there.
