I have a 90 hp optimax and tonight got into a nice sized rock. Bent my stainless prop and shaft. Had a bad before I even went fishing and this finished her off. I live in ooltewah and work in chattaooga, anybody know of any shops that will straighten the shaft for me? Thank s in advance for any help

Sorry about your bent shaft and prop.
I would call Dans or Performance Propeller and ask them where to get the shaft done. Either one can do a good job fixing your prop.

I do not think they straighten bent prop shafts. They did not on my 225 a few years back. Had to buy used or new one. Props they can make look like new most of the times.

Check your insurance before getting it fixed.

I second that motion. Not suggesting people run to their agent for every little issue but you should be insured and this sounds like a legit claim. Unless you have the foot apart, you're not 100% sure what else is damaged. good luck

Alright guys, I have state farm insurance and my agent told me yesterday that this is covered. Thank you Lord!!!! I had no idea that lower units were this expensive. Just the prop shaft alone is $500, add in a new prop, new seals and bearings, this will get mighty expensive quick. Thank you all so much for all your help.
