Help on steering instalation

I have a steering setup like this one. Do you know if I take disassemble the unit to run it UP through floor instead of pulling it all the way out and having to run it DOWN from the top? </p>

Not sure what you are wanting to do???? I think you don't want to pull the cable completely out of the boat. If so, where the cable comes in will ususally be a cross bolt. Pull it out and turn the steering wheel. This will cause the cable to feed out of the helm. Then you can feed the cable into your new hole and then back into the helm and reinstall the bolt.

Yup, thats the info I got from another guy also James. I feel better about it now!

The cable has a notch cut in it and the bolt holds it in the helm. Some of the helms will only have the bolt and some will have the bolt with a push button release. If you can't figure it out, post a pic of where the cable goes in.
