Pointer 78,
It was good to meet you today on the Wolf and indeed you are correct!! I wasn't having a problem catching fish in Wolftever nor was the knot tying an issue in Chester Frost. The incident that tndoe270 is referring to is a simple case of a BIG quality SLAB braking your (old 4lb test) line as you attempt to lift the Fish into the boat due to your partner not getting the net for you!!!!! emoBang That slab was probably 3 lbs!!!!ha!ha!!Usually she would of been more helpful but today in those light and variable winds, she was to busy front boating me!!!emoEnforce
AND AS FOR OLE SWAMP Donkey: when we meet on the G , I just may teach you a knot or two!!emoGeezer
Actually, tndoe270 does have a small point. I actually did have to adapt and change my method of fishing during the morning. Since I was getting front boated( TT: This means , the person fishing the front of the boat, positions it for their advantage and thus doesn't allow you access to the good spots) I had to try and swing the advantage my way. emoScratch So, I added a swivel and a jig to my set-up. The problem was, I added this swivel and jig above my minnor without retying (poor engineering). emoAngry and Yes it did cost me a good slab! However, it was a tough morning of fishing in those light and variable winds. We fished many brush piles which varied in depth but found few fish
I found less than tndoe270.
While driving back to Ooltewah/ Georgetown, I decided to bank fish in the Wolf, where I have been catching Crappie. The wind in the Wolf was very light and variable and the Fishing much better. I caught at least 20 Crappie(most small) and a real nice Small Mouth, a few Spots and once TVA started pulling water, I started catching bream (ran out of minnors).
emoMad It was time to get home anyways.
Pointer 78 , it was nice meeting you today and good luck next week in your Tour.
