I was wondering if anybody could help me with a problem I have. I have some floating frogs but when I have them on the hook, they have a tendancy to "twirl" in the water i.e. they won't float upright. I tried looking around the internet for some suggestions but I came up empty handed. Any help would greatly be appreciated! Thanks in advance guys emoSmile

Try a hook made for frogs, usually have a screw thingy up front. Also it helps to rig it straight.

That was goign to be my advis. Iliek the zoom horny toad hooks. Also are you putting the hook all the way though? if so IT may make it swim difffernt.

actually its more like a very slow sinking action, I got some of the ribbits also and use a hook with a stake attached to the eye that I have used with them, driving it thru the nose, but they do the same thing. I don't know if they are supposed to float or not, but they sink slowly as well.

I use the rage tails and they floay. I know some of spro and snag proof frogs float, but the rag tails and those sink slowly.

Big Bite Baits is making a floating frog - have not got to try it yet. I fished with Scott Montgomery at Eufaula a couple o fweeks ago for my August GON and AON articles - he and his father own the company. I plan on trying them.

Big Bite pours about 800,000 baits a week - you have probably used some of their baits, they pour for some big companies. They have just started selling under their name.

one trick I use on the zoom horny toads ect.. is I use the large hooks with the screwlock keeper on the front and I just start screwing it in a little low of the frog centerline this holds the nose a little higher and when pulling it towards you it kindly "skis" on top of the water but it is just slightly below the frogs centerline horizontally. this will only help it stay on top while using a slow retrieve but they don't seem to rool unless you are retreiving it too fast.
