guys my engine just wont crank been using it all morning and all the sudden it would not crank,i checked the fuse and it was good 20 amp.it is a 98 tracker 60 hp has been running good.no fish iether.what is the problem?

Will it turn over? If not check to see if the fuel pump is working with the key in the run position. If not check the plug on the harness and engine where the boat wiring plugs into the engine.

it wont turn over.what does the fuel pump have to do with it not turning over?

Because the wiring for the fuel pump goes through the same plug as the wiring for the ignition and such, at least it does on my Mariner. If the fuel pump isnt running then the problem could be the plug. It happened on my boat, I would be running and it would just shut off like I turned the key off and then when I tried to restart it nothing! just like the battery was not connected. Turned out to be a loose pin on the plug end of the wiring harness coming from the boat.

that all makes sence.how do i check the fuel pump.it didnt miss or shut off.i was in a spot fishing and was going to leave that spot and tried to start and nothing.like the bat was disconnected.when i try to start the volt guage would sho 12 volt ans then drop just alitle.

no i didnt idle at all.i just checked the starter cylinoid and it does click but wont send to starter.how do i check starter

guys i did a little trouble shooting and guess what it was.well guess" it was the starter cylanoid.thanks everyone for your help
