Man, what a great weekend! Didn't come home with any bone, but it wasn't for a lack of effort. Saw deer like crazy up there around those crops. That is a whole different type of hunting up there! I saw 2 good bucks, but neither offered me a good shot. It was still archery season up there, and those bruisers like to stay just outside of my 45yd range emoBang But I saw deer in every sitting and had a wonderful time. Hoping to head back up there in December for the late black powder season. That should be an interesting hunt! Weather was great except for Friday. 70 degrees and 35mph winds make it tough to bow hunt. But yesterday morning was 27 degrees when I got in the tree and the deer were moving like crazy! Probably saw 30+ in 3.5 days of hunting, and my uncle saw more than 40. 3 good bucks were seen between us both, but none were shot at. Brought home a little meat for the freezer from a doe, and all in all had a great trip. Can't wait to get back up there and get after those soybean deer again SOON!!!
