Coupla questions.

Where did you get that Mr. Crappie Hi vis Yellow line? Was it at a local store? I'd rather help out a local person than buy it from the web.

Also, anyone ever use a slip float to get a bit deeper? I just bought a few thinking they are a bit deeper now than spring. If I find some laydowns in 5 - 12 feet of water and start my jig at the 1/2 depth and work it down til I start getting some strikes, this might be a good method, but it is just theory. I'd like to try it and was wondering if anyone else had ever tried this for late spring early summer crappie.

Thanks guys.

The Mr. Crappie line is excellent for crappie especially if you use the 4# test. I could not locate it anywhere except at Bass Pro. Good luck.

Gator, you can get Carolyn from Hamilton Sports Shop to order it for you at the catalog price. You will save on shipping and be helping out a local dealer who supports CFF as much as they can. I just wish that other Cffer's would buy a little more stuff from them. Even if it is just a little higher than the big stores who really didn't or won't support CFF. A few pennies aren't going to send any of us into chapter 11.

About the crappie fishing in the summer time. Yes you can use slip floats to fish in areas for crappie. I would start at 12 feet and then move up and then down about 2 feet at a time until contact is made. Hopefully, I will have a crappie report when I get through with the May meetings which start tomorrow. emoGeezer

I second the motion to buy local and Hamilton's is a great place. They will get you anything from Bass Pro Shops and get it at a great price for you. They are always helpful and very nice folks. I buy lots of stuff from them and sometimes when I'm driving by I just stop in to look and see if there is anything in the store that I just can't live without and most of the time I find something. It's great to have a local store that keeps their stock up and are good to work with. Please buy local if you can.

Thanks DK for that reminder. I was planning a buying trip today so now I will head to Hamilton's. I little further drive than the other places but well worth the cause. I need some BPS stuff, so, I may order it through them.It sure is closer than the drive to Hotlanta.

Hamiltons has done me right for the past few decades! I always try to use small businesses if I can (HINT! HINT!) because the money stays mainly in the local economy and small businesses are a lot more willing to support events than big business. Let the folks down there order your line for you. Like DK said, we are talking a few cents more to support a local business that supports us. By the way, I love the Mr. Crappie line.

This thread goes hand in hand with the Bass Pro Shop's shipping sucks thread. maybe they ship better to distribiters than individuals. Any ways, I've been buying everything from Hamilton's for years. I had no clue I could order Bass Pro stuff from them as well. Thanks Guys!

Marty down at Tails & Fins Outfitters in Rossville keeps it on the shelf at all times. He is a great guy but he is not open on Monday.

no more ordering from bass pro for me. I didn't realize you could order basspro stuff there.

Most of the time they place their orders on Monday and get it in either Thursdays or Fridays. Unless the item is out of stock.

THANKS for the info on Hamilton's. I didn't know that they could do that. I'll be using them in the future for sure.
