I'm a new member, glad to see a site dedicated to fishing in and around Chattanooga. Are there many trout fishermen on here? I see a lot of catfish pictures on here but not a lot of talk about trout fishing in TN. emoScratch Can't wait to start reporting and posting pics from some of my trips.

emoWelcome to the site. There are a few trout fishermen that post on here, but not as many as you would probably like. Anyhow, glad that you joined. emoGeezer

Brandon.  You use to play baseball for my husband ( Mike ).   Look forward to hearing more about trout fishing.

Haha hey! Was thinking about you and that big cat you caught on a tube bait (I think it was) the other day. Hows the fishing been?

Welcome to the forum. Look forward to your reports. I love to trout fish, but usually head to NC when the urge hits me.

There are several areas to trout fish within 60 miles are so of Chattanooga. Most folks that I know go east to fish. Not me! I go West and northwest to Cane Creek, Elk River, Collins River and several creeks in Warren County. And to the most special trout stream in all these parts, The Caney-Fork River. There are two parts of the Caney Fork. One is above Center Hill Lake, however the best section is the lower section that runs Northwest from below the Centerhill Dam. I think it is about fourteen miles long. It is flat and wide. Open enough to flyfish. The very best way to fish it is to plan a two day trip, float it and camp on the river bank.
