Hello All,

My name is Phil. I live in the Soddy Daisy area. I fish as much as I can. I am a Network Manager for a local company, in short a computer geek. I am a kayak fisherman. Some of you may have run into me on the water this fall and winter. I love the yak fishing, because it is peaceful, good exercise, and presents a whole different fishing experience than boat or shoreline fishing does. I fish for bass and crappie. Haven't had a lot of luck with it this winter, until yesterday, and I got pretty luck with around 11 or 12 fish.

Really love to learn about catching bass, and I am still very much a beginner when it comes too slinging artificial. I only recently, came to understand the differences in gearing on a baitcaster. I love anything that requires a lot of skill and practice. I am a former Ironman triathlete and fitness instructor as well as a soldier.

I look forward to reading your posts about your fishing success and hope to learn a lot about the art and science of fishing!!

Have a great New Year folks!!

Phil

Hey Phil, welcome aboard, we're glad you found us. I'm a computer geek in training, I think emoScratch (Mid-life career change)

There's a great bunch of folks on here and I'm sure you'll be able to find answers to many of your questions. Even if we don't know the answers, we'll invent something. lol.

If you ever want to give the yak a rest and fish out of a boat let me know and we'll try to set something up. Look forward to meeting you.

Take care.

Welcome. Yak fishing sounds like a lot of work but I'm sure it is peaceful and fun. Plan on trying it one day.

Thanks everyone! I might have to go out on a boat and give that atry in the spring or summer. I hqve been in either telecom or computers for about 13 yrs and the one constant is a ton of hours and you never stop training. I have 2 Microsoft schools in the next two months that will allow me to test and hopefully attain MCITP Enterprise and Enterprise Messaging. Leave Friday for Fporidq for 15 days of hell. If you ever have any computer/server/networking questions let me know. Again looking forward to you guys teaching me how to tie a knot and put a minnow on a hook.

Oh im definitely a techie, just a horrible typist. Prob one reason i never use batch files for administration. Just safer to do it by hand. Had one too many long nights because i forgot a switch in a command.

Techie!!! Lol. Just messin with ya. Im taking CIST 2414 this term so i may hit you up with some questions.

Sure, anytime. Not too much I don't handle on MS Server. I have done just about everything on 2003, 2008, and 2008 R2 from Web Edition all the way up to Enterprise. It can be a really fun job, and it can be a nauseating, OMG I am going to be working all night, and I have no idea how to fix what just broke kind of job too. All I can say is thank God for Google and the advent of the technical forum. Never feel like any question is too easy, unless it is really just too easy.
