High Wind Cancels Day One FLW

The first day of competition (Thursday) in the FLW Costa Southeastern bass tournament on Lake Chickamauga has been cancelled due to predicted high winds. Some disappointment in the field of nearly 400 anglers, but most agree it's a smart move.

Since the full field of 197 FLW boats will fish Friday and Saturday, and there are other large tournaments scheduled for Saturday, Michael Neal points out that the lake will be crowded. Y'all be safe, and courteous, out there.

I think someone put out some false info. Both weather.com and weather underground, show winds maxing out at 20 SSE.

Yes I'm getting conflicting forecast also. That is weather forecast though, for they are never certain.

Does it mean that the water is off limits for the FLW anglers? I still plan on fishing tomorrow.

Weather channel is only showing max 25mph SSE winds

They made the right call. Weatherbug is showing 26 sustained with 35 mph gusts right now. Last weekend with 12 sustained and 20 mph gusts mid lake was awful. Watched the high school boats running back to Dayton and they spent more time in the air than in the water

Weather forecasting can be difficult. Looking at the radar it doesn't look like any storms will be an issue until the afternoon and looking out my window off and on this morning winds calm to maybe 5 mph. I know it's early and things can change but it looks like perfect fishing weather to me. I'm sure the 2-boat accident where four fishermen were hurt a couple of weeks ago came into play.

Just got home and was out there all day. It wasn't that bad at all. We caught a lot of fish and the buzz bait action was awesome!! Hate they canceled it for all the guys. This is dream weather for topwater! But it was nice having the whole lake to fish and only see 1 boat all day
