Hiwassee 4/18

Headed out Hiwassee late today because I had to go to the doctor.I was going by myself at first and then I called a friend that lives close to 58.Figured he was working but just so happen he was at home and ready to go.I talk to a fellow at the boat ramp that had been fishing and he had caught a few but nothing to brag about.Anyway I started my rattle trap deal up shallow and caught a couple short fish.I decided to go to a slough to get out of the wind and it paid off.Evidently since the water has come up the fish have followed it .I found some grass ,but not aquatic grass,that the water had risen into.About every 20 yrds we where catching good quality fish.Mostly right at keeper size.Iam heading back in the morning to realy get on them.All those fish where caught on brush hogs.

It sounds like you guys had some fun, David. I plan to go in the morning, but to Watts Bar (Hog Pin) Only we will try for some paper mouths, heard it will be windy, so we plan to get there early before it gets to bad. I hope you do good tomorrow.

Thanks dude!I hope you do well yourself.Iam fired up for in the morning because I know those fish I was own will be there.Probably more of them.I realy didnt even fish that hard today because the dude that was with me is not that big into bass fishing.So we where bumping our gums alot.In the morning it will be me and down to business.

Is the water still rising? Or has it stabilized? Thinking about hitting the Hiwassee for the first time this year on Saturday.
