launched at 6:30 out of soddy creek and ran to the islands at the hiwassee, fished the weed lines around the islands til 11:00 caught 9 largemouths,2 of those were keepers. fished buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, and followed up on missed strikes with jigs. bassin machine and I had a great time on the water,it was a beautiful morning and the air temp was really cool, felt great. Water temp was 78 degrees

that pattern worked pretty well for me Monday night.I had two that went 5/7 and lost two other keepers that would have been a couple of pounds each.I like to target the grass that makes little "points" and run parallel to the grassline.Try following up on the missed strikes with an unweighted fluke sometime they love those.

Jason we started on the outside edge and made our way around to the inside, it was the edge they were relating to so it didnt matter if you were inside or outside, the fish we caught came from both sides. Ranman, thanks for the tip.

waste of time.I've never been able to catch bass at night on the Hiwassee.I also have never talked to anyone who has!If you have please let me know because you will be the first,I don't think they feed at night up there at all.

It wouldn't be a bad Idea to hit the Hiwassee before dark though if you don't mind that long of a run. Those fish still don't get as much pressure as Chick bass do.

The bite, when it is on, seems to last no later than 10pm on the Hiwassee. I could be wrong, but I think it is because they start feeding around 6:45 and are plenty full by dark. However, I've heard of several huge bass (10lb+) being caught on the stump flat at the back of Candies in the wee hours of the night.
