Hiwassee Cut-Off

Anyone know for sure when the Reserve fishing cut-off starts. I think it is Nov 15 thru March 31st?

Nov 15 through last day of Feb.

if you are talking about delayed harvest, meaning the end of catch and release, he is correct, last day of Feb 2018. though if you are wanting to keep trout, you can go fish the Elk River, near Winchester, Tn, about 1.5 hrs from here. no dalayed harvest and creel limit 7 with no size limit for rainbow. also if you wanted to go a little further, the Caney Fork is a great river. Just check generation schedules. ( if you have a fishing Yak you can still fish the Caney up by the dam opposite side they release water on and still catch your limit. Hope This helps!

I think you can still fish the river channel, just not outside the channel boundaries.

so, nov 15 through the end of feb you can only fish the main channel of the hiwasee from the tn river to hwy 58?

main river channel passing through the refuge."

Its not just the Hiwassee, the refuge is on the TN river too. You can view a map on TWRA website.

On the Hiwassee, you don't want to get far away from the channel anyway when the water's down. Saw 4 different boats plow on Saturday, thought we were gonna have to fish 1 out of the water (almost threw him clean out of the boat).
