Hiwassee River @ Charleston

Question: What influences the current in the river ? I know that the dam releases and water levels have an effect, but don't know exactly how much and when. It would seem that when Chickamauga and Watts Bar are on full generation there oughta be some current induced in the Hiwassee, but lately there usually isn't much. Then, occasionally I am surprised when there is. Also, are there any fishing reports from that area ? Thanks

Yup. We were just up there and I learned of that dam and the powerhouses. Pretty impressive stuff that I didn’t know existed.

i fish Rogers Creek and Candies up to the bridge most of the time and have been getting some better fish this year.
