Several guys I know say they have been seeing hogs on deer leases in western Bradley County this year, and 1 finally got a wad of 'em on his trail camera...I talked to a wildlife enforcement guy and he said that there are Feral Hog populations well-established now in Hamilton, Meigs, and Bradley counties...

Too funny! That is not a boar hog, it is one of 3 pot-bellied pigs! I stopeed and harrased them a few weeks ago, thought the same as you did. They had torn the crap out of the side of the interstate thoguh rooting around. I guess they belong to one of those homeowners right through there, maybe had escaped. There are more hogs around than ever though. </p>

I talked to some guys in Benton this afternoon ans they said that three is not as many hogs around as their used to be but their has been around 50 bears killed there this hunting season

I have photos of one that was hit by a car on Ooltewah / Ringgold Rd. 1/4 mi. from Windstone Golf course. This was about three years ago. My wife and daughters saw it in a ditch and came back home to tell me. They saw all that black hair and told me it was a bear! When I first saw it , I thought it was someone's black Angus calf, but it was a hog! I had never seen one with so much thick, black hair! TWRA said it was about 9 mos. / 1 year old and about 200 lbs. male. Someone had already pulled the tusks from both sides of the jaws. I asked the officer if that is a "young" boy, shouldn't there be some Momma's and Daddy's out there somewhere? He said there was, they get reports / sightings all the time, the Sheriff's office said the same thing. They even said there was two or three black bear sightings and reports each year from I -75 at White Oak Mtn. all the way down to where in Georgia, it becomes Taylor's Ridge. They are here!
