Howdy to everybody, interested or not

Can anyone point a fella in the direction of some needed hog removal? (within reasonable driving distance of Chatt).
No bay dogs necessary, If someone was kind enough to let me accompany them thats already knee deep in it,
I will do all the dirty work (fd and quarter) for half the meat.

Thank ya in advance.

Good luck, hog hunting is essentially illegal in TN now, unless you can get on the approved hunters list the landowner must keep with TWRA.

good to know, I appreciate the info. I was kinda aimin for So GA or L.a. Some place they beggin ya to just come get'm, but still close enough to make a day er two out of it. again I do appreciate the input.

... just about any where south of Birmingham, Al. My brother in law lives in Warrior, Al. He has a meat processing facility and is also a hunter. He says the if your a hog hunter people there will tuck you in bed and then fix your breakfast the next morning! I'm told there are no restrictions. No limit, no season. it's 24/7 day or night. Fully autos are welcome. The further south you go, say below Montgomery, the worse the hog problems are. The state just want them eradicated! They have actually had the military in helicopters using night vision shooting hogs with automatic weapons. That is what I have been told by many people in Alabama. However, I would call someone else and verify this.

South georgia hog hunts are cheap. Most are no kill no pay. Dont even get me started on hogs and twra.....

Texas where I'm from, man they just want you to come get'm off the ranch .. (Too far to drive in a day er two.)
I'm sure its just a matter of time before they are all over these neck of the woods too, Twra needs to allow a year round 24/7/take all ya can right now around here, before they get out of hand. i KNOW we already gottem nearby, but I havent seen any signs on my place or trail cams yet.
I love pork and hunting hogs, just not in my own woods, id rather my native game be left alone. Got too many dern coyotes around as it is.

Well look here y'all. I sure do appreciate ya takin the time to respond.
I'm definitely gonna look into your suggestions a little more. Have a good'n and God bless.

Yea...that was a pretty screwed up deal.</p>

I used to hunt down around Columbus Ga. With an outfit called "nuthin fancy hog hunts" don't believe they are around anymore but we paid like $200.00 for a day to hunt with Pitts. We took 12 pigs one day, all fell to the pocket knife.

I do really enjoy the meat but I hate the damn things. They ruined a place I hunted in Marion Co. I saw first hand how they first run the native game off and then absolutely destroy the habitat.

While I will agree that they destroy habitat I absolutely love wild hogs. I would rather have it then venison any day of the week. I have run them with dogs, I have trap them, I have shot them with every weapon available. They are an incredible creature but I would never dream of doing with these idiots around here have done and releasing them into areas that shouldn't have them.

Ok so why can't you hunt them in TN anymore? I have access to property in TN and was given a permit by the landowner for this reason a few years ago. We haven't went in probably two years but what has changed.

Shoot them, throw the meat in a garbage bag and come home with it. Landowner happy, you happy and no one else needs to know. Happy eating!!

Why do you even care? You will never go! emoTskTsk Your all bark and not bite. emoPoke

I am glad to see this is about real "HOGS". I thought when I first saw the header it was another issue of some kind with the Razorbacks. emoLaugh emoRedface Jmax

I keep telling my Brother in Law that if they get this far up and that populated I'll have a new hobby! And they are so easy to dress. Get one under 100 lbs. skin it, lob off the head and feet. then split it right down the back bone into two halves. Rub it down and grill it. This is some of the best, moist, tender meat / BBQ I've ever had. I expected it to be rather rank as some other hog meat I've tried in the past, but it was delicious! He likes them to be 50 / 80 lbs. and he always has at least one or two in the freezer. They make good lean sausage too!

If the landowner puts YOUR name on the tag he has( has to call the twra office in crossville, its real easy), then you can hunt hogs 24-7/365 by any means other than dogs or poison on that landowners property.

Well alrighty then. I love huntin dogs, man it's like a sore peter, you just can't beat it, but a surprised stress free pig with a quick .308 sized hole in the brain shore tastes sweet! . Unless you wanna just eradicate, then load them dogs up boys and let us make a mess of things! Haha.
Well I guess I will reeport back if I find some to get into.
Thanks again fellers and felletes (if your reading this).
