Again, Thank You All for supporting this "Casting for a Cause" So many in the community have related the site with this "slogan" that I'm really hoping that we can use it in all our Charity / Benefit events. Its made quite a name for itself!

I'm going to do another post , AFTER MY NAP, to thank everyone that donated and the sponsers of this event. Theres so many I need to mention! Need to clear my head....

So much has already been said about this Benefit Tournament, but for those who missed it today and did not get a chance to hear the words spoken before blast off and the letter of thanks from the Family that BBass read at the weigh-in, it was inspirational and also very sad to hear about the loss they have experienced.

BBass did an outstanding job for a great cause and I am very glad CFF could make a contribution to help. This may have been one of the largest turnouts yet to a tournament. I know it's got to be the largest amount of sponsor and member donations! When BBass posts a sponsor thread I am going to keep it at the top of the others for a few weeks to give them the recognition in the form of some free-advertising and to show some appreciation.

Skeeter175 and DHaun Report
Skeeter175 and I started around Harrison Bay fishing cranks on a point and beating the banks. He caught 4-5 short fish (3 of them smallmouth) on a white/chart chatterbait and I zeroed with my Bandit 200 crank. We eased into a slough with some wood cover and after I tried topwater. Both our keepers came on a big Pop-R like lure called a called a chug-n-spit that got slammed in shallow water - that's my lucky big bass lure since its what I caught my biggest ever on. We also went up around skull island threw jigs into wood structure, buzz baits over grass, crank baits, chatter baits, fished from 4-12 ft and even did some spoon jiggin in 18-23 ft with no success other than a bream and a white bass. It was windy but otherwise a great day to be on the water and I was glad to be able to bring a couple to weigh this time - Thanks Skeeter175 for the backseat!

FA and I ran up to Chickagami? slough, fished it all the way to the back with no luck. FA caught our best bass at 14 1/4" on a craw-like grub off some shallow riprap by the cooling towers. He also caught a small white bass in Ware Branch on a crank. I caught a 4" pumpkinseed on a deep little N and a 10" spot. Had a great time fishing with my good friend and getting to see many CFF'ers. Kudos to BBass for a great tournament for a even greater cause.

I kept telling him we shoulda' locked through!!

BBass and BBassJr Report

Started out by heading straight to the weeds. Notta! Not even a bump! I decided to put it in gear and ran all the way into Soddy where I knew I'd aleast get 1 maybe 2 off some trees i like. Well...ALL 4 in a 50 yard stretch and in about 40 minutes, off some rock ledges.

Threw a Black/Blue Pig'n Jig in about 2 feet of water that broke down into 5-7 then 12 + Feet. The bites can about the time it was dropping onto the 5-7 foot or right after. Left there and never got another bite. I had to get to the ramp early and meet the wife so we could set up the prizes.

BBassJr got a few small spots and one good brim. Other than that, he did a great job netting Dad's fish..LOL

Davo and I hit some shallow water early hoping to get on some topwater action. We started out with BBs and Davo tossed a spook some also. We landed three keepers in the first hour or so on a white BB and then the bite got really slow. Around 9am Davo had a very nice fishing pushing over 4 lbs sling his spook...that was a big downer. We tossed a SB and a frog for a few minutes and just couldn't connect. We motored over and fished some more shallow water hoping to find some bass chasing shad but only boated one slick. We decided to head back and fish the spot that worked for us early and with the sun high in the sky the activity was even more slim. I tossed a rat-L-trap quite a bit and and Davo a SB. I felt a hard snag, set the hook, and nearly freaked cause the fish pulled soo hard I thought I had hooked a toad. Once it started quirmin' around and flashed near the surface we realized it was a 6 lb catfish. We both had a good laugh on that one but at least it beats the giant stick I caught in the Watts Bar Tx. emoLaugh I told Davo that I don't think I have ever caught a catfish intentionally; catching one on a Rat-L-Trap was a new one for me. It was a beautiful day to be on the water and once again I had a great partner! Thanks again for the backseat Davo emoToast and thanks to all those that donated and participated!emoThumbsup

Wow!!!!emoEek $3,000.00 dollars raised is great for a small bass tournament or 29 boats. Bbass my hat is off to ya, you did a great job and I know the families of those girls will appreciate it.emoWorthy I would also like to thanks everyone who paticipated and fished. I was very pleased to find out we had almost twice as many as I thought we would have. I am staying up to watch the 11 oclock news to see it, I missed the 6 oclock one.

Concrates to Cory and Blake for a fairly good creel on a poor results day. Only two limits out of 29 boats tells you how poor it was. However with that said we were all winners on a good cause. the weather was great, nice and cool. Maybe a little winded but not too bad. Great day to be on the water.

Me and FishinVol had a great start and he had four in the boat including a keeper before I had my first hit. I told him he could just catch them all and I would be the net man. Right after that I caught my keeper. These were all on a ten inch black worm on the edge of a grass line. Right as the sun showed they came up schooling right in front of us and we caught about 10 on top water but we had the 14 idus bug. Several right under 15 but we could not make them reach. We actually caught about 30 bass today and had a great time but the two early keepers were all we could get to go in the live well. We caught our fish on black worms, pupkinseed with a chartruse tail, a count down rapala, a puppy and I think that was it. The big bite we just could not find, once the sun showed it really slowed down for us. Most of our fish were in the main lake on grass edges but we did manage a fish or two in the wolf. Way to go everyone and I am looking forward to next weeks Tx at the Nick.emoBigsmile Jmax

Mr. Haun pretty much summed up our day. We had a great time except when i bout lost David on a turn into a slough behind HBSP. The fish just wouldent cooperate with us, but that wasent why we were there. BBass you did a great job man...

Congrats BBass for a wonderful TX. It was so incredible to see all those boats heading out of Harrison Bay this morning! This is the biggest TX I had ever fished and it was a heck of a lot of fun! This just shows the power of good will of good folks to get something done for people that have had horrible, horrible loss. Myself and Fishing Fire we proud to be part of it!

We began fishing the shallows early, actually think we saw BBass a little ahead of us on some points near the nuke plant/skull island fishing shallow also. It didn't really begin to pick up for us until the sun peeked through and then the fish began to hit top. We used a torpedo and a blade dancer and landed several that were 14" and 13". Missed one or two heart stopping blow ups. Wind began to really pick up. No keepers. We decided to try a couple of deep points and headed up river. Didn't connect with anything deep, although they were showing on the finder. We did manage to pick up 4 more fish but again they were all short. All in all it was the slowest day for us in sometime on the lake. But we loved the heck out of being there! Congrats to the winners!!!!

BBass you done a great thing and you got it together well. Thanks to all who participated and congrats to the winners. All 29 boats are winners in this tourny!

Thanks to all who donated and sponsered this tourny. Sounds like every one had fun and it was a beautiful day to be out. Just wish I could have been out there instead of working.

Thanks again BBAss! I know these families are appreciative of all that was done..
Good job Folks!!!! emoThumbsup

Once again work steals away my chance to participate in a great tournament and one for a good cause(s). I tried to show Jmax where some big fish were Friday but I guess we sore mouthed them. ;)

I thought I would throw in my .02 worth.
What a blessing to have folks that care enough to do such a event as this. Bbass, you are to be commended for tackling such a task... YOU DONE GOOD BY BROTHER. Although me and the MB did not catch a keeper we were privileged to be a part of the benefit Tx. We had a ball. Got to mess with Jr. a little bit and a hug from Bbass's wife. I thought the day went well and no accidents on a rough day. My congrats to Cory and Blake, super job guys. Got to meet lots of CFF folks and put faces with names.. a good thing. So glad lots of money was raised for the families... Boy, was I tired when I got home... This getting up at 3 AM sucks.... also, washing the boat did not help us catch the needed fish ...LOL What a great group of friends to fish with....emoGeezer

Great job on the tournament. We were short all day. Most of the short guys were caught near Bear Trace over grass on Toads. First time I had ever caught fish on the Thunder Toad. Also caught fish on Spatter Back Bandit 300 and Rattle Traps. Wanted to make the weight in, but with no fish to weight, I opted to make my sons Soccer Game.

Again, hats off to everyone that made this happen, the sponsors and the fishermen.

Had a great time yesterday! Thanks Bbass for the hard work ! Sorry I didn't get to meet more of you folks, but Volunteer football was calling my name so I headed for the house! AS someone who knows about people going out of their way to help (for my little girl) ,I was so pleased to be able to help out any way I could and was very proud of everyone for being so supportive! It was a tough fishing day(as far as keepers go) but I had a great time with Jmax and thought I did ok for it being my first tournament. It was great to meet Stump Jumper,Bbass and Davo and hope to meet more of you soon! Thanks again!

Congrats to Cory and Blake on their big win. BBass did a great job putting this one together and it was an honor to help these families out.

Our lone keeper came at 7:40 am on a DJW buzzbait, chart/lime. We were fishing a little cut just above the nuke and there was a slight depression in the bank that I threw to. That sucker was only in a foot of water and went 3.3. Not 20 minutes later we were fishing a laydown and my brother had one follow his SB right to the boat that would have gone 6 or 7. Oh well. We only caught 6 to 8 all day ... it seemed once that wind picked up, our bite just completely fizzled. No matter ... I had a blast with my brother.

At least we know Blake actually fishes. I was beginning to think that he just collected fishing stuff and didn't use it. emoPoke
