Can anyone recommend anyone nearby that carries some of the better home defense .38 Special ammo? Looking for some Federal125 grain Nyclad lead hollowpoint (P38M),Winchester Silvertip 110 grain JHP (X38S9HP) or someFederal Low Recoil Personal Defense 110 grain Hydra-Shok JHP load (PD38HS3 H). Something similar might also be Ok. </p>

Wal mart has always had the Winchester JHP rounds. I have only bought .45 acp but I would say they have lots of .38 special as well. The .45 were about $25 a box so they're not too cheap. They have probably gone up a good bit since I had to buy. I order most of my ammo from my dad now. He is a dealer/ gunsmith. His business is Heritage Custom Arms, LLC. His number is 706-866-4430. He can get pretty good prices.

Go to GT's. Its in Rossville. If you head down Rossville blvd towards fort O turn left at the light just before McFarland. It will be the Grey building on the hill. Cotton Has some of the better prices in town there and is always stocked full of ammo. They also supply the local Police Depts.

The best defense ammo available anywhere is the Hornady Critical Defense. Shooters Depot carries it as well as several others. If you cannot find it let me know. I have several boxes in .38

Thx guys. I plan to visit both GT and Shooters Depot in the next few days. In the meantime, I was able to use a gift card and a dicks coupon to get some Hornady CD for $5 and some change. It is for a older 38 so I have to steer clear of P+.

X2 on going to GT. I get all my stuff there they have just as good of prices as most places on the web. I am kinda partial to ranger sxt for ammo. I like the tap rounds too.
