Got to CFP early and waited a few minutes to see what the rain was gonna do. IT let up shortly ater and I went ahead and put in. Saw lots of bait around the park but not really anything happening so I went out to the river and fished some areas that I did well in last winter. I caught 7 keepers in my first spot with the three biggest being between 4.5 to 5 lbs on a 1 oz spinnerbait. I was throwing shallow so I didn't need the weight but I wanted BIG blades! (I came across a big school of large 3.5 to 4 inch shad). I went up river to a couple more areas and caught at least one fish at every stop. THis warming trend we had really helped the bight for me. I even caught a big white crappie on a trap. I caught all fish in 7 FOW or less and temps were 51 to almost 54 degrees with STAIN. White spinnerbait worked best with gold blades. It never really rained too much so between getting out again and catching a good number of fish it was a real winner of a day and I got home in time to see the Falcons nearly choke for another year. lol I think I would have been a little over 20 lbs with my best five but I didnt officially weigh anything so I don't know. To be honest I wasn't real worried about it. Just happy to get my thumb chewed up!
