Cheez, why are you bringing up this trash again? We have all seen this garbage again and again from the likes of Fox news and other right wing idiots. Why don't you just admit that you don't care for him because he is black or he is a democrat? If the president was a republican, we wouldn't hear a peep out of you, everything going on in the USA would be perfect in your eyes. You have been on this site longer than me and I never heard you say anything about a republican when they all were in power. Some democrats started getting elected, it got worse when Obama was elected. Live with it for 3 more years and one month and you can do anything you want to, to get another republican elected. You are beating a dead horse.

Well Doc it has absolutely nothing to do with his being black. Keep pulling the race card but it won't fly. As far as the demonrat thing goes you are partially right. If someone is a democrat and supports the party platform then I am against them vehemently. If they are a Zell Miller type democrat then they are ok in my opinion. I just want to make sure everyone knows what a monster this man is. What a liar and a fake he is. How he is destroying the United States at a rate previously unseen. Most people already know but there are a few that still think he is the messiah. I will continue to beat the horse untill these misguided individuals see what a mess they have made by electing Obama. I know most are a lost cause but I hold out hope that maybe one or two will see their error and come out of the darkness.

Wow!

You know what guys, It saddens me every time I hear " it's a left wing or a right wing thing". Remember ( it's one nation under God, not separated). Why can't the people unite to make this country of ours a better place. Whether we are Dems. or Reps., we all love the outdoors, if not we would not be on this web site. It's funning how everyone has so many opinions on politics , but yet put a Dem. and a Rep. in the same boat without talking politics and they'll have a great day fishing or even hunting , two individuals enjoying the outdoors. I grew up with a Rep. father and a Dem. mother, yes growing up in that house was kind of strange , but I made the best of it. I never became a Rep. nor a Dem., but I did take the good things of both parties with me. I love this Country and will accept whoever is in office whether they are a Dem. or Rep. What I would love to see is Congress working together to resolve the issues that we are faced with now, but instead all I see is two parties against each other . Do they have so much pride that they will not work with each other to resolve all the issues that we are faced with today, but instead to say " My party won the fight". Is it all about winning or is it about the beautiful people of this Country and keeping the American Dream alive for decades.............. Am I asking too much, maybe............

What saddens me is the hypocracy, and how may through good fortune, many have made it in one of the most expensive countries on earth to live in. I have friends that if it was not for family fortune, they would be in bad shape, but somehow because of what their daddy, granddaddy did they stand above and have not done a dang thing with their life but feed off there good luck. Then have the audacidy to stand by and talk about people wanting handouts. Good smart people are born into bad situations. Some grow up and pay lots of taxes and pay the government a whole lot more back than it ever gave to them financially. Would pay back in blood if called to do so. The american dream like triton talks about, is someone I might know. Parents may have lost their way, but unfortanatly some of them still breed. Give some of us a chance. We might suprise ya! Don't abort, support! Glad I was born in 67 instead of 73.

There are as many left wing idiots as there are right wing idiots! And i have never known an honest politician. With that said, with a little common sense, one should be able to realize(religion aside) that the hope and change was a politicians promise to get elected. The only worry that i have is that i am not going to be able to do the things that i love most, hunt and fish, due to political actions. So, make sure you support and join groups and associations that are working to protect our rights as outdoorsman!

Groups are like polititians as well, once they have fulfiled there agenda they are not going to go home. If the fear is gone, they will create more, their kids have to eat just like yours and mine.

I don't consider myself a democrat or republican but I don't like anything I see out of this administration. They are growing the government at an alarming rate and I despise that. I don't really understand how anyone could support that. If you think its expensive to live here try Europe.

No need to try Europe. Just stay here for another couple years and you will see what expensive really is.

Average household in 1965 paid $11,054 in income tax, adjusted for inflation that would be $74,679.14 in 2008 money, but the amount actually paid in 2008 by the average household was only $21,616. Seems to me that your paying significantly less now than anytime in the recent past (since WWII).

I'd love to see where those numbers came from. Average income tax in 1965 of $11,054 seems to be mighty high. I did a search for average income in 1965 and this is what I came up with.

Cost of Living 1965
How Much things cost in 1965
Yearly Inflation Rate USA 1.59%
Yearly Inflation Rate UK 5.0%
Year End Close Dow Jones Industrial Average 969
Average Cost of new house $13,600.00
Average Income per year $6,450.00
Gas per Gallon 31 cents
Average Cost of a new car $2,650.00
Loaf of bread 21 cents
Average Rent per month $118,00

The 11,054 came from heritage.org, a conservative think-tank. http://www.heritage.org/Research/Fe...es-Per-Household-Have-Risen-Dramatically.aspx

I did make an error and re-adjusted by including inflation twice. However my point remains that we are paying less (% wise) than ever.

Corrected numbers: Adjusted for inflation the avg family paid 11,054 income tax (2008 dollars) on 42,088 income (2006 dollars) in 1965.
avg family income in 2006 was 77,315 .
