how do i get started

i can tie flies and jigs and i am fixen to start pouring my own jig heads.
looking at all the posts of all the custom rods have me ichin to build custom rods, so how do i get started i dont have a clue were to start.

I suggest a lot of reading 1st. There are a lot of good forums to look at. Or may a few books, a good book to start with is Rod-Building Guide by Tom Kirkman ( about $15)
