How do you Reg. a record fish.

??????? After fishing a club tournament this past week end. One of our club members caught a grass carp that both partner's est. the weight to be around 80 lbs, we found out the Alabama record was 70 lbs......MY QUESTION IS..... If you catch what you think is a record....What do you have to do to get it Reg.. Or what all is involved in Reg. a record fish.....Does it have to be alive or what....

The certification process includes two witnesses of the weighing on certified scales; species identification by a state fisheries biologist or certified fisheries biologist; and a side-view photograph. Applications and rules are available as a PDF.
