How many combos do you think you need rigged up when you are bass fishing? What lures do you keep rigged and ready to go all the time.

well i always keep a spinnerbait, smallcrank bait, BIG crank bait in the summer,a big jig for flipping, and a texas rigged lizzard, ohh and usally a jigging spoon. Then sometimes i have the same thing on another rod but different color. As far as how many you need i have no clue.

I keep 4 rigged, this time of year, I have a suspending jerk bait, a Bucktail jig in Brown and Black with a strip of pork, A large Colorado blade short arm spinnerbait 3/4 oz and a chartreuse med diving crankbait.

Spring 6 rods
Crankbaits on 2 of the rods, one shallow , and one med, one jerk bait, one with 1/2-3/4 oz spinner bait, and one spin rod with a shakey head type jig and 6-7" worm

Summer
One rod with jerk bait, one with a split shot rigged plastic worm, one med deep dive crankbait 8-15 feet, one with a heavy 1 oz jig and 6" Paddle tail worm, and a 1oz single large willow blade spinner bait.
And if Im fishing a grass lake always have a popper, and frog on, or early mornings popper

Other seasons or times it changes per conditions, but a crank bait , and a jerk bait suspending or floating are always on one rod or more rods

I'll have as many as 9 rigged at one time. The only lures that I fish year round however would be a finesse worm and a jig.

Spring thru Fall

1) Senko: wacky or Texas rigged
2) Shallow crankbait
3) Spinnerbait
4) Jig
5) Carolina rigged worm or lizard
6) Texas rigged worm or lizard
7) Topwater lure of some type
8) Deep running crankbait
9) Finesse worm

Winter

1) Jig
2) Finesse worm
3) Jerkbait
4) Dropshot

Topwater/buzzbait,spinnerbait,shallow/medium crank, deep crank, jig-n-pig, finese worm, Texas rigged worm.
Standard tools for me when I fished tournaments. Might change up a little if fishing tx's nowadays but not much.
Fun fishing you don't need that many because time does not matter as much. JMHO

Good Topic.

As the others,,,it depends on the time of year. For the most part,,,I always have a spinnerbait, a medium crankbait, a jig, and a worm of some sort that are always available.

I keep Six rigged at all time all year, all same rods and reels
crankbait deep
crankbait medium
spinnerbait
plastic bait
jig
topwater
plus 4-5 more in rod locker like cr rig, spinning reels for small baits and crappie, flipppin rod

When I fished tournamnets, I rigged like this depending on the season

6 quality combos should cover it
a 7'med crankbait outfit (the BPS David Fritts series is good)
a 7'mh baitcaster outfit: pitching and flippin and carolina rigging
a 6' mh baitcaster outfit for spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, topwater plugs
a 6.6' baitcaster outfit for texas rigged plastics 6" and 1/4 oz and up
a 6.6' spinning outfit for texas rigged plastics smaller than 6" and less than 1/4oz
a 6'med spinning outfit for weightless presentations like a trickworm/fluke or dropshoting

If you find that you throw the same kind of these baits a lot... get another outfit to rig a different color or style

Hope it helps

Due to financial constraints I tend to take 2 rods with me. One usually has a T-Rigged worm and one for whatever new bait I just fell in love with at store/watching infomercial. After the new lure fails due to being a gimmick/lack of understanding how it works, I toss the worm for the rest of the day. ;)

If I'm fun fishing, it just depends on what I want to focus on, but Tournaments:

Davo I don't think the site can handle it if you list everything you keep rigged up. I will always remember the first time we went fishing and I mentioned that your front deck didn't seem anymore cluttered then anyone else I had fished with. You replied that I should see the rod lockers, I have never seen so many nice combos not being used in one place before or since!

You ought to see what he has hanging in his garage that he doesn't even bring.emoUpsmile Yea, I'm serious!!emoLaugh

I have 5 bass rods plus one ultralight. 4 bait casters and one spinning rod.

Spinning rod has a tube tied on 90% of the time with the other 10% of the time has jigging spoon.
One baitcaster is for jigging spoon.
One baitcaster with a pig n jig or chigger craw
One baitcaster with small crankbait or spinnerbait
One baitcaster with Sammy or torpedo.
Ultralight with powerminnow

If you cannot catch bass on the river with the above then go home.

For Chick I use a Spook and tropedo and a chigger craw in the grass.

Yeah I know when we fished that tourney he let me pick a few to use for the day. Its crazy, he could sell all the stuff he doesn't use and pay off his boat.

2 baitcast combos rigged with worm and spinner bait

2 medium spinning combos armed with floating rapala and rattle trap

2 ultralight spinning combos with slider grubs and tubes

thanks to recent posts by dhaun i am considering combo #7 heavy spinning combo (maybe) although i think my baitcast combos could handle striper if needed. havne't cought one so not sure
