Aoright guys I've had some good laughs over the last few years reading some of the things people do. In all fairness, since some of you guys have admitted to doing embarrasing things I'll just hop on the band wagon. emoRedface I got my new trolling motor in yesterday and had a couple hours of daylight left to pull the swap. no problem right? just remove the old and mount the new emoLaugh I ended up having to cut the bolts by hand with a hacksaw blade because the toggle bolts used to mount the thing were rusted up and wouldnt back off. I got that out of the way and set the new motor down and got it bolted in place. I had already changed my battery jumper so I knew I had 24V out and re-checked it at the plug. emoThumbsup This aint so bad! decided before I buttoned EVERYTHING up I would try it out so I temporarily wired up the plug, hooked it up and pushed the button on the foot switch......... emoEek Nothing but the directional indicator on the head lights up. HOLY CRAP!!! emoMad I had no idea what I could have done wrong and started tracing to what it sould be. (You know a MotorGuide has a 5 speed selector switch and also has a O position) Quick end of story it took me 40 minutes until I knocked the foot switch over and saw it was turned OFF. emoZipped That trolling motor worked like a champ once I switched it to a speed setting. How stupid can you be sometimes??? Just thought I would share with everyone and thanks for all the laughs I've got from here. emoDoh emoThanks
