I have been watching with disgust how this program still keeps inching along and looks like we are doomed to have it. One of the big things right now going on with big companies is that the companies on part time workers, those under 30 hours, the companies do not have to offer insurance. They are not fined or anything on those under 30 hours. Many large companies have already made the statements they are going to be forced to cut many people back to less then 30 hours to avoid fines and insurance costs. emoBang Looks like a lot of part time jobs are going to be coming open so those looking may soon be able to find work but it will only be part time. You can get two part time jobs to make a whole but you still will be screwed on benefits. emoHoppingmad Jmax

I have an acquaintance who owns a paiting company. His accountant advised him to form a second company that would hire the same employees as the first company. The first company will work the crews 29 hours per week. Then, the crews will report to work for the second company where they will finsih out the week. Otherwise, the price of painting one house would increase by an average of $600. He calculates that would be enough to drive him out of business.

He said he considered downsizing, reorganizing, and every other option available to him, but this was the only option where he felt assured he could survive and grow the business. Sad.

His actions will force his employees into one of those health exchanges. I think everyone in those exchanges will be in one of those "single payer" organizations. Incidentally, the single payer organization is the holy grail of all health coverage plans so cherished by socialists.
