How to handle blastoff?

Let's ponder this for a little while...we have some options.

Ok, here is an option to consider:</p>

First, post an official sign-up thread and make it known that there will be a Thursday night drawing for boat numbers (done by two committee members via phone or other means) and then post the teams and there respective boat numbers. This should encourage everyone to pre-register.

Second, have (two) two man sign up teams, one at JCP and one at the city park ramp. Encourage everyone to have their money ready to hand off to one committee while the other checks live well. This can be done at the ramp or in the road while the line is not moving. There will some that will not have pre-registered but most will, I believe. Using the city ramp will take some of the pressure off of JCP, however, there could be five other tx out of both ramps. BTW, the city ramp is 1/4 to 1/2 mile down the creek. I am not exactly sure how many boats it will handle.

Third, have everyone meet at the mouth of the creek (river channel) and send them off in 5 second intervals. Just don't block the channel so the other tx can make their way out to the river.</p>

Should we just wait until the TV club is done with their blastoff and then we could have a shotgun start from the no wake bouys there at the ramp?

Also, are we weighing in at 2 eastern or central?

I like everything about your suggestion Al but I don't know about having the city ramp covered. It splits us up and may cause more confusion. Otherwise I like everything else. Anyone want to chime in?

There is an outside chance that I get to fish it, but if I do, I will put in at the City ramp and would gladly sign anyone up that would like to use that ramp. I won't know until sometime late Friday. I would suggest having everyone go out to the main river to blast off. just my 2 cents. </p>
