a few weeks ago i put up a post about leaveing my switch on in my boat by accident for more than a month and when it was time to go fishing i thought oh well i guess i need to charge the battery, but when i tried to start the enigine it wouldnt do anything at all,i checked all the fuses and all where good so i figured the starter had went out,and it did in a bad way,i took it to get checked out and when it was taaken apart it looked like someone had taken a torch to it,the insides were melted to the caseing so i had to buy a new starter, found one on the internet for 70 bucks tax shipping and all,i put it on the boat and still had no contact,so i had to replace the cilinoid also. according to a few different boat mechanics all these problems came from starting the boat with a low voltage battery that when was being charged had a burnt cell or something and wasnt carrying a full charge,so all you folks out there that dont know it dont start your big engines with a half charged battery,i had to learn the hard way,all total it cost me 70 bucks for a new starter,95 for a battery and 25 for a new cilinoid. i typed this forum in haste but i hope i help someone out so they wont have to learn the hardway. emoBang
