Got my 898 installed and trying to learn it. How would you try to catch these?

Of course you never know what type of fish those are but you could try a metal spoon jigged vertically and then throw something like a drop shop or soft plastic if nothing takes the spoon. If it is on the main lake and there is no current then good luck! That makes it tougher.

Since they are suspended off the bottom and 40' Depth I would first try a Drop Shot or Lead Spoon if they are more active.

Carl, a lot of what your seeing on your graph is bait fish and stripers. Generally when you graph fish that appear to be stacked on top of each other you have found a school of stripe. Schools of bass will generally be more spread out horizontally rather than vertically. The small blobs that you see close to the top are schools of bait. The larger artches that you see towards the bottom will be the fish that you want to catch. All the recommended baits above are a good place to begin. I would also throw a shakey head with a 10.5in worm on it, it may sound stupid but it works, ive seen it.

I have to agree with what I learned from Rogne. If you look at the one's that are on the hump to the fighter that are more horizontal those might be lmb

IM not sure if he was saying they are stripers, or white bass, (often called stripes) BIG difference. My untrained eye says stripers, arches are too big and not enough fish stacked to be whites.

To correct myself if I mislead you or was misunderstood- the fish that you have circled in red I would say are largemouth, atleast from my experience what I would be lead to believe they are. What I was saying by the way your screen looks, the fish you are graphing on the left and right of the screen appear to be stripe aka white bass and other bait fish and the blobs of green and blue in the top center are smaller bait fish. What you have circled in red is what I believe to be largemouth which is what I am assuming you are going for.
