That is a no-brainer. Killing a illegal deer is bad enough but to take dated pictures of it that show it is illegal falls into the "Dumbest Poacher" catagory. Served him right, if he had just done the right thing he would have saved a lot of money and still have that deer mount. emoTskTsk Jmax

That happens alot in IL. I know lots of people that hunt up there and dont bother to buy the expensive tag until they make a harvest. That is one reason I am against the checking of deer on the internet. Everything in IL is done on-line as far as checking goes...Kudos to the officers involved. Poachers make us all look bad.

It goes to show that TWRA and other state wildlife agencies are willing to do what it takes to to solve a wildlife crime. There are some very dedicated wildlife officers in this state, espically in this area and I take my hat off to them. I have to agreee with Churly that on line checking of big game should not be an option. Hopefully the commission will reconsider on line checking in the future.

From what I have ben told Tax money is not used to fund TWRA. There money comes from License & Permit fees

That is right Treed1 License sales funds the DNR officers. The TWRA office staff get paid through the Governor's office. I would have gone too. They got their pictures taken and the publicity is good for business.
