Huge Koi in Parksville!! Yep I said Koi! What Koi!!!

I was at the lake Saturday fishing the Mac point sough off the bank and to my surprise I see a huge white fish swimming sbout the grass patches. I look and look again and I will be darned if it isn't about a 16" Koi!!! I have the pics that I will upload tomorrow night. I couldn't believe it!!! I am 100% positive this is what it was too because I have an 1200X zoom on my camera and it is unmistakeable. Wow, I guess it never fails what will come outta that place, LOL!!! I'll have pics up early early Wed. morning.

Never knew there were Koi in there... Wow!, I thought the spaaats would tear them up before they could grow that big!LOL

Probably a white grass carp, they are sterile but people put them in ponds to keep the grass at bay. They will live for years if not harmed and eat tons of grass in their lifetime.

thats funny, my parents bought a farm with 2 ponds, a koi pond and a catfish pond. the guy who owned the place got mad at his wife and threw her prized fancy koi (about a 3lber) in the catfish pond. well its still there 4 years later atleast 5lbs, and feeds with the catfish when dad feeds them. its funny, it has the long flowing fins like a fancy goldfish, and turns upside down to feed?!? i might have to catch it one day and get a picture. wonder what the tarp size for award would be on that.
