Humminbird 718 questions

I just recently purchased a humminbird 718 fish finder without the optional gps reciver,i was wondering if anybody has this unit and purchased the gps reciver i herd that it did not include maps? I was wanting to purchase the reciver but wanted to no if it had the maps. thanks!!

the receiver wont come with maps.. maps would come with the head unit.. sounds like you will need to buy a map card to go with it

what will the gps reciver have on it?

its just the receiver which allows the gps to work..your head unit might have some generic maps but i doubt it will show contours or anything.. i dont have hummingbirds so sorry cant be any more help..id call hummingbird tomorrow morning they should be able to answer all your ?'s
