I have a Humminbird 797 C2 with Side Scan. When I turn it on it says Low Voltage Input. After a short while minutes vary it shuts itself off. Can anyone enlighten me as to what can be causing? Batteries in the boat have been kept up with properly all showing 12+ volts. Very frustrating and I am no electrician. I would appreciate any ideas of what to start looking for and where to start looking???? Any Help Appreciated. emoBang emoBang emoBang emoBang emoBang emoBang emoBang

sounds like you need to check and see how much voltage you have at your power plug and all so check the ground.could be a dirty or loose connection.

Exactly what I was going to say! I think he will find the problem if he follows your advice.

I have 13.6v at the plug batteries are 6 months old with full charges. I am going to try running extra grounds just for added grounding. Connection at battery is clean and tight. I am going to try contact cleaner at all connections and plug???

You can have good voltage but a weak connection will cause the voltage to drop when you cycle power on and off.

I went through this same thing a while back. I have a fairly new boat and the wiring looks new but I had to run a wire straight to the battery and forget about the boat wiring harness for electronics. All my problems went away.

I will try routing wire direct to battery to see if the problem will go away. Thanks All for the input!!!

Ok I cleaned all the connections and connectors, ran extra Grounds to frame of boat (all aluminum). once done firde up the fish finder and NO ALARM for low voltage. Will take out this weekend and see how it does with everything running for the true test. Thank You for all suggestions and replies I am in your debt!!!
