Chart Select is not a replacement for SD Map Cards but could be for someone that fishes only one lake. It is intended to allow anglers to download a single lake to a Blank SD Card for their needs. Going on a Fishing Vacation or have a fishing event outside of your region...no need to buy a new region just purchase the lake and download to a Blank SD Card and your ready to enjoy your vacation or event.

It will also allow anglers to get the most up to date lakes as they become available. No more waiting until the annual release to get a new addition. You can download the new lake as soon as LakeMaster completes the survey and creates the new Contour Map file. With the most active survey crew in the industry many regions are getting new lakes added all the time but anglers have had to wait until annual release to take advantage of the new data...not anymore with ChartSelect they can enjoy the new data sooner.

Only the latest 800, 900 series and 1100 series ( 899, 959,999,1159,1199) Humminbird units plus Onix units will run this software. They had to give us a reason to purchase a new Humminbird. If they will add Smart Strike to these models also I might consider a change.............

ChartSelect will work on any LakeMaster Compatible unit. CURRENTLY you need to use a CORE Series model ending in "9" like 859 or 999 etc OR all ONIX models have the latest software to Encrypt the SD Card so the map can be downloaded. You can use a buddies unit capable of Encrypting the SD to do this process or I already heard some dealers offering to do this. CORE Series Software needs to be 7.4xx or later to offer this feature ONIX 2.000 offers the Encrypt Card Function.

The 898c can use the ChartSelect Data but at this time does not have the software to Encrypt the card.

I do know that more maps are planned to be added in the future to the ChartSelect Server...this is the initial release.

One Map per Encrypt SD card at this time...you can purchase Generic SD Card Locally 2GB Minimum is required to Encrypt. No Special Card needs to be purchased.

SmartStrike requires more processing capabilities than the CORE Series (800, 900 or 1100 Series) that is why ONIX & ION are the only capable models for SmartStrike.

Chart Select Mapping will work on ANY LakeMaster Compatible Unit...See Above Post the Card just needs to be Encrypt on a unit that has that software update already which is v7.4xx and later for CORE products and ONIX v2.000 Software.
