humminbird depth shading

I know the new Humminbird units offer a depth shading on their Helix and Solix units. Does that feature work with the standard maps that come installed on the units of do you have to buy an upgraded map card to have that feature?

Shallow water highlite and low water offset are the two best reasons to buy a lakemaster
chip.
