Let me first say that I've had at least 6 Humminbird products that have never had a single issue. I has been thinking of upgrading my 1199 and when they released the Helix 12 gen 2 mega, it looked like the perfect model to me. I purchased it soon after they were released earlier this year. On my first trip with the new unit, I noticed the cursor would not work on any split screen views. I immediately called Humminbird and the tech offered no helpful advice said they weren't having any issues with these units and and kept telling me that is how it was designed and to get more familiar with it. After several calls and several months they advised me to update my software, so i did, and the issues was resolved for about 10 minutes. it then would only work sporadically and having to unplug the unit to "reset" it. Last week they told me to send the unit in, so i did. I received an email a few days saying the unit showed no issues and they were sending it back. When I called customer service they then told me they were aware of this problem with the Helix and Soltice units and there is currently not a fix for it. This is incredibly frustrating. Is anyone else having this problem? I quess I have no choice but to wait for an update.

i have a gen1 helix 12 that is awesome, have had HB stuff for years. sucks that youre having this problem. cool thing is that they will fix it with an update and then you'll be G2G. im ALWAYS leary of buying the first model year of ANY product as there are almost always bugs that have to be worked out. hang in there and enjoy the awesome imaging of the mega!

Rhino, did you have them installed? If so was a dedicated power from the batteries ran for the units? Low or power from say + of one battery and - from another but still providing 12v can cause all sorts of strange anomalies.
