Ok,my dad and I just bought a boat off ebay( I know it's dangerous, but my uncle went and checked it out for us),and it has a humminbird matrix 67 fish finder on it. I am very excited because it has a gps system in it and everything, then I come to find out that they have been discontinued.emoBang I don't know if it is because they aren't any good or they just upgradedemoScratch . Does anyone know anything about them??

I have one on my Ranger and a Matrix 37 on my Tracker. With the antenna, the 37 is essentially the same as the 67. I really like both of mine. The only thing is Humminbird provided the duel beam transducer with the 67. This limits the size of bottom that you are seeing clearly. Try to find a Tribean or Quadrabeam transducer and you will be happier with the clarity.
If you have any specific questions, go to bassboatcentral.com and ask it. This site is monitored by Greg Walters who is a Humminbird rep that will answer every question.

Do not be alarmed about the term "Discontinued" All the electronic Manufactures constantly come out with their new line in order to compete with each other. You can still get parts if you should need them. The new line of products are sometimes the very same unit and has all the same parts. In some, the software has either a little more or even a little less features to make it different. If you go online to their web site, I will bet that you can find the basic same unit that you have with a different "New current series #".

Lowrance/Eagle have great products but are the worst that I have seen to switch the model numbers. They can have a unit out for less than a year and then be replaced with a new product.

My favorite marine electronics line is Garmin, but they do it too.
