Hello everyone, I have purchased a humminbird 899 with side imaging. I am using the standard transducer the came with it. My problem is that when I am trying to identify structure on the screen, say dock or something that I am passing, I can't see the post for it on my graph. Had it set to 100 feet and was about 50 feet away from it and nothing.I have the transducer mounted about 6 or 8 inches up from bottom of my boat, in center of transom kind of at bottom of jack plate. Do I have it to high or do I need to upgrade transducer to the HD transducer. Next question, does anyone have a lakemaster card that maybe a couple years old for sale?

Not sure what yours looks like but post that are standing vertically will show up on your screen as a bright dot with a dark line behind it. It may not be that its not on your screen just that it does not look like you imagine it looking

You may need to go into advanced settings and play with the sharpness and contrast on your screen. If I remember right on the menu its called "SI Enhance".

It may not be added to your list of things to see while changing views. Go into settings and make sure side imaging is enabled as an option when you toggle through the view pages on the unit. There is a bunch of options to see it half screen with other things or whole screen by itself. Not sure if that helps or not

Here is a side image of a dock

Think I found the issue, looks like someone has been playing with my transducer settings and had si set to 800 khtz and if I am not mistaken that is the di setting. Restore defaults and will test it out. Thanks for all the input, yes I know what it is suppose to look like, that's how I knew it was wrong. Watch all of Doug V videos on youtube.
