Hummingbird 561! Help needed

Hey guys! I just bought a new humming bird 561 to replace my 400 dx. The 561 works fine for a bit, then starts giving all kinds of false readings. Any ideas?

Where is the transducer mounted at on the boat? Does the problem occur when you are sitting still or moving?
