This is a head-shaker! Thousands of hunters pray for the very rare opportunity to hunt elk in Tennessee. Only 9 adult hunters were chosen this year from thousands of applications. TWRA reports just now that one of the hunters selected for the hunt killed an elk, but he did so illegally.

Here are the details: http://bit.ly/2ei9nKQ

How disgusting that someone who has such a privilege, a rare opportunity to take a Tennessee elk would want to use illegal means for a harvest. This ole boy should get the book thrown at him! Unbelievable! Great Work TWRA!!!!

No way to justify it. His emotions got the better of him and he allowed it to make him an illegal hunter. Opportunities like that don't come along very often. It is truly ashamed he wasted it. emoTskTsk Jmax

I am 1 of the lucky 4 that were drawn on the gun Elk Hunt. The other paid his way in. I was very fortunate to kill on the first evening of the hunt. A 5x5 that was 648lbs dressed. I understand the excitement of the hunt, after all you are looking at an animal that is as big as a horse with horns walking through the woods. That said the guy that killed illegaly is an idiot,he blew a once in a lifetime Hunt.
The game wardens up at that WMA were great guys and a lot of help I would Ike to thank them all again.

Congratulations to Bryan White for such a great trophy!! To pursue an elk in Tennessee and to harvest one is such a memorable hunt that will stick with you for a lifetime. Not to mention to be interviewed by Mr Richard Simms for another outstanding write up!! Plus, all the wonderful meat for the table too is just hard to beat. Congratulations again on a successful hunt and a hunt done the right way!!!!
