Since my hunting partner canceled on me for today, I hooked up with Cheez to try to whack a doe or two. When I left the house, there were two deer in my back field so I felt positive about first-light.

Great overcast weather, very light wind, and nice 45 degree temp. Sat in some gorgeous woods, but never saw a thing. Tried scouting a little, and got lost....LOTS of walking/talking to Cheez on the phone to find my way back out!

Still had a great time of fellowship with a good friend...thats what counts. Thanks Cheez.

Got home after a stop at the dam to wet a line, had about 30 mins of light left so I went out back to get into the treestand. As I was abaout to climb the stand, I ran a deer off, only 30 yards from the stand...
. Oh well, maybe next time!
