I am confused, what is the difference between your hybrid duck and a black duck which is what that looks like?

I would like to see the bill of that duck.
More than likely it is a cross between a Mallard and a Black. True Blacks do not have white on their speculum.

Yes its a mallard/black hybrid. Really the only difference was the white stripes on the speculum. No green on the head at all.

Unfortunately that is and will continue to be the norm according to most biologists.

Thanks, I have hunted ducks most of my younger life and never knew that. I may have killed a couple hybrid and did not know any better. emoThumbsup Jmax
