Hi, I'm Juggo,

Unless disaster strikes, I am moving from Maine to Hixson TN next month and I can't wait. I am bringing my 13 Foot Boston Whaler (1980) down. The Chum Bucket has a 25 HP Honda on it. It's a heavy sturdy boat and can handle pretty rough waters in fact I had it moored in the ocean for a couple years (they won't sink :) It's set up for fishing, got rod holders and a Raymarine fish finder etc on it. Good for two people to fish and will have to do for now. Hoping to upgrade eventually.

Growing up I fished in the ocean and Western ME Lakes region. The freshwater fishing in ME has been epic in my book with regular 2-4 # and plenty of 6+ # LMB. Some hefty SMB too.

From what I've seen around here looks like I'm about to die and go to heaven. ME state record for LMB is 10#s. I realize I'm not going to show up and start catching 10#ers but I am really looking forward to exploring Chickamauga and the Chatty area in general.

This forum is so freekin awesome! Thanks to everyone for making it happen, it's just what I need. Looking forward to the advice, tips, stories etc. and hopefully can contribute with my experiences as well.

Damn glad to meet you,
Juggo

Sell the snow thrower before you move. The hint of white stuff causes a run on milk and bread like you would not believe.Plus everything shuts down, you know no plow's , sanders, snow treads etc. Up north , the run is on the beer cooler. Moved back ( home ) from Vermont a couple of years ago, you will love it here

Thanks guys. Very nice to eMeet you. haha.

Haha Smalliefan2, good point, it's been kind of a pain getting rid of all my winter stuff. I traded my snow thrower to my neighbor for one of those plastic storage units like the ones you put on a dock, but we have shovels, roof rake, ice skates, sleds, skiis, snow shoes, ice fishing gear (auger, tip ups, ice rods etc.) and all the winter clothes.

Nothing shuts down in Maine due to snow, especially the beer store. We had at least 2 blizzards last winter plus many snow storms and I don't' think they cancelled work once. The skiing was epic though.

Yes, the timing couldn't be better. The snow will be flying any day now.

You can fish year round down there right? In Maine there is a lull from November until the lakes are frozen enough to walk on. Long stretch to go without fishing.

I'm the one and only Fat Albert and I catch my limit every time I go out....I build rods as a hobby ..... I am the better looking and most intelligent, and the most humble of the three amigos..... just have to ask me.... anyhoo..... welcome FA emoGrouphug </font>

emoWelcome What Fat Albert neglected to tell you is that his limit is one fish. That's about all he ever catches when he is with us. It is debatable if he is the better looking of the 3 Amigos. He is the shortest, roundest, funniest, and most modest of the 3. Has more contacts that Ma Bell. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

Welcome! I grew up in upstate NY and did 20 years in the Air Force. I settled in here to a decent job and great fishing. You won't ever regret the fishing (we won't talk about the job..)! I still wear Crocs w/socks in the winter so it doesn't get that cold here, but my blood is pretty thick...
