I have got everything ready and am having to wait for the trukey to cook. I do most of the cooking around here, I love to cook and always eat toooooo much.
;)
Turkey; Young turkey anywhere from 12 to 16 lbs.
-Soften butter and rub it all over the trukey so it is nice and sticky. Put poulty seasoning, Mrs. Dash, a touch of garlic powder to taste. Cook for about 2 to 2 and a half hours at 350. Will look just like the ones on TV, I like to use a cooking bag.

Jmax's homemade Giblet gravy for the turkey and dressing; Take the turkey neck, heart, liver, and gizzard out of the trukey and boil it until tender. Cut into small pieces and no bones. Take drippings and cover the bottom of a skillet and heat it up. Cover the drippings with a coat of flour and brown. Add about a cup of water and pieces of meat, heat until thickens.

Jmax's Homemade Walnut Dressing;(best Part) You will need a pan of cornbread, follow instructions on bag. 1/2 loaf of wheat bread. One large onion diced. Sage, about a tablespoon rounded. Celery, two stalks diced. Salt and pepper to taste, a stick of butter and a can and a half of Chicken broth. Two large cups of walnuts crushed.
Mix all dry ingredients togather in a large bowl or pan. Hold out one of the cups of walnuts. Break up the corn bread and bread so it mixes easier. Once it is mixed well take the stick of butter and heat up the broth and melt the butter in it. Now pour the broth into the dry mixture until it is moist and the dressing will stick togather well. Transfer the the mixture into a baking dish and take the cup of walnuts you held out and spread over the mixture. Bake it at 350 until top of the nuts are brown and the dressing is now done. usually about 30 minute.

Sweet patatoe yams; I cheat and buy them premade in a can but add a little to them. Take large can of yams and pour into baking dish. Drain most of the juice out. Take marshmellows and spread over the top. Now spread pacan pieces over that. Add cocanut and cinnamom to taste. Cook at 350 until marshmellows melt and it is heated up.

Green beans; Take a can or two of your favorite brand of green beans and pour into a pan. Take Mrs. Dash, garlicpowder, and pepper to taste. Add silvered almonds and heat up on stove.

I serve all of the above with cranberry sauce jelled, cresent rolls and a salad with of course ranch dressing. A pitcher of cold sweet ice tea and time to pig out at Jmax's.

Yep, my post above does fit the grandpa on Hee Haw, shows our age. Some folks on here will not know who he is. i hate jmax;) i was hungry at work, now i'm freakin starvin! i cooked none this thanksgiving, i spent the holiday with my menonite family (babysat me since i was 8weeks old, think of them as second family). we had tons of good homecooked food. the one thing that really stood out though was the smoked turkey. he smoked the turkey in a smoker, with a boston butt above the turkey to let the juices run down onto the bird. it was awesome. ok, back to work.
