well thks for the help on my last thread to help me put this kid on a few fish to put a smile on his face guys i know some of yaw do crappie fish so i would just like to say thks for the help hhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

TG, I am sure some folks will chime-in and give you ideas. You have to remember that Monday during the middle of the day is the absolute slowest time on the forum. Most are working, and those that dont (most crappie fisherman) are probably on the water, as its the very best time to fish with-out other people on the water.

TG actually received one of the fastest, detailed, and helpful responses I have ever seen on CFF. I put a question up about the best side of Rivermont ramp to use 2 days ago and still got no answer...

Thanks JSV! How's that for Free service - Better than Google! emoThumbsup

You might also read some of the reports on the site as numerous productive patterns have been shared for crappie recently. Please let us know how you do!

Geez, dude...RELAX! Click "search" and type in C-R-A-P-P-I-E. Read what you find.

Expecting an immediate answer at mid-day Monday IS a little "over-optimistic", don't you think? hhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

no guys im not a big fisherman and i have asked a few questions on here and get no reply so when i looked and seen that around 20 people have looked at the post and no reply that kinda got to me but sry if i sounded like a a@@ but i have been up for 24 hrs to get home to take this boy fishing sry for being a horses @@@

Also keep in mind that there are always as many "guests" looking at the forum as there are members, and and a guest cannot reply to the thread, but I bet it registers as a "view" when one reads it. I for one, did read it, and unfortunalty have no advice for you, as I cant catch crappie, and also dont fish the Hiwasse river where you are going to be. I bet that was the case with other folks too.

I haven't read the request before just now and I have been moving and haven't been keeping up with the forum too much lately. I am a crappie fisherman, but have never fished the area up there, so I couldn't be of any help other than just generic advice.

Fish with 4 lb test line, use 1/32 oz jigs with either panfish assassins, tubes, or curly tail grubs about 2" long. Use a combination of white/chartreuse or red/yellow plastics. Look for points, brush, laydowns, docks, or anything that a crappie might hang out around. Use minnows if you feel like cheating. JK. emoBigsmile If you want to, use the smallest pear shaped floater and set it about 5' deep and work it slowly over points, along bluffs, on the edges of laydowns. Good luck. Let us know how you did. emoGeezer

I don't fish for crappie, so I couldn't help either. I admire you for taking someone fishing who has challenges in their life.

Tailgate, I agree with BTOW on admiring you for taking someone fishing that has challenges. I promise he'll never forget it (you either). Keep up the good work. Sorry I couldn't help with any fishing info but I don't fish that far up Hwy 58.

will someone show me a pic or were and what is a good color to use im trying to figure out what a panfish assassain is never heard of it im looking for something for him to use that will keep him were he can throw out and reel back in to keep him busy un like a minnow that we was using thks guys well i got to go and play with some los angelas traffic god bless

Here's a link that shows the panfish assassins: http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&rh=n:3409311,p_4:Panfish Assassin&page=1

I usually fish one of these little baits on a 1/32 oz jig head. I usually fish one of the colors that is mostly white with metal flake and dip the tail in chartreuse dipping dye. I usually use the Spike It brand of dipping dye. Fish the baits slowly after waiting between 5 and 15 seconds for the bait to drop. A couple of weeks ago the best drop count was around 7 seconds but drumking said that 12-15 seconds was better since the water has cooled down a bit. You can get panfish assassins at many bait shops. I know that Hammilton's in Harrison and Smokey Mountain Tackle store in Cleveland both stock them. Wal-Mart and Sportsman's Warehouse have them most of the time too.

Good luck with the crappies!
